Each year Peninsula enters teams in the Debaters’ Association of Victoria competition where we have experienced great success over the years.
We have development squads in the Middle Years, with Senior Years mentors helping the younger students. The mentors are a useful addition to the regular classroom debating activities at Years 7 and 8, strengthening links between students as well as providing valuable leadership opportunities.
Debating is used as a form of oral communication in the senior English curriculum. Interclass and inter-House debates provide further opportunities for students to learn the skills of public speaking. The School also enters students in other forms of public speaking competitions such as Mooting and Plain Speaking.
Parents wishing to view the School are invited to contact our Admissions Office, who welcome enquiries at any time and will be happy to arrange personal tours for families. Telephone (03) 9788 7753 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
