The VCE is an internationally recognised Australian senior high school certificate which also serves as the gateway for Australian and international universities.
The value of the scholarship is for two years of tuition fee remission as a maximum. This equates to around A$65,000. All other expenses must be borne by the candidate’s family. They include living expenses which may total around A$50,000 for the two year period. There is no possibility for Peninsula Grammar to extend the value of the scholarship beyond tuition fee remission only.
The criterion for successful award of the scholarship is essentially academic. We are actively looking for very high achieving students from selective schools. For applicants who may depend on also gaining a university scholarship we will favour those with excellent academic achievement in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Students with other gifts will certainly be carefully considered.
Students will be shortlisted for interview based on certified copies of their secondary school results up to and including Year 10 or its equivalent and related documents on the application checklist.
The interview will focus on determining the proficiency of conversational English, future plans and ambitions, co-curricular interests and general preparedness for study abroad. We welcome parents to attend the interview and will be pleased to answer their questions together with those of the candidate. The interview will be conducted in the home country of the candidate or by Skype.
The process is highly competitive. Proudly, we have a history of bringing outstanding international scholars to Peninsula Grammar who go on to excel with us and in their university and professional careers.
It is important to emphasise that while the School will advise and guide students through the process of applying for university places and university scholarships upon completing their studies with us, we cannot guarantee the outcome.
