Welcome
Home > Campuses > Early Childhood Ctr

The Early Childhood Centre (3YOK-1) is a self-contained unit located on the school campus and is served by its own dedicated staff, including music, physical education, library and art specialists. The playground is self-contained and it is located a small distance from the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. Kindergarten children have separate play areas that are age appropriate for them. The ECC is able to access the very considerable resources of the school at any time.

Early Childhood caters for children from 3 Year Old Kindergarten through to Year 1. Our Kindergarten teachers have Early Childhood qualifications and Year Prep and 1 staff are all experienced Primary school teachers. The Kindergarten, Prep and Year 1 classes have trained assistants who work with the teaching staff.

We aim to provide a safe, relaxed and happy environment where children can be challenged to their maximum potential. We do indeed encourage children to think carefully about the school motto, “Hold fast to that which is good”. When necessary, we are able to access assistance from our school counsellors and our special education teachers. We may also call upon the services of our visiting speech pathologist and occupational therapist if the need arises. Parents are always closely consulted at such times.

We are very happy to have lots of involvement from our parents whilst also fostering an appropriate degree of independence in our children. Parents are welcome and indeed encouraged to help us with shared reading, maths lab, excursions and the swimming and perceptual motor program (PMP). Parents who have any concerns regarding their child are advised to make an appointment with their classroom teacher. Formal Parent/Teacher Interviews are held twice yearly in March and August.

The Early Childhood Education Centre prides itself in being an extension of all of our families. We love joining together for special occasions such as Grandparents Day, Swimming and Athletics Sports days, concerts and our many Christmas activities. We love working with our parents to get the very best out of the children in every way.
