The
English
Language
Centre
hosted
six
study
tours.
First
term saw
visits
from the
TEDA
International
School
in
Tianjin,
China,
and the
Ausland
school
in
Chengdu,
China.
In third
term we
were
hosts to
the
Chiben
Gakuen
School,
Japan,
and a
group of
children
from
various
schools
in the
Namegata
Prefecture,
Japan.
Over one
hundred
children
experienced
life in
an
Australian
classroom
in an
atmosphere
of total
immersion
in the
English
language.
When not
in the
English
classroom,
our
guests
were
shown
many of
the
beauties
of the
Mornington
Peninsula
and
participated
in
activities
such as
trail-riding,
bush-walking
at Cape Schank
and
rock-climbing.
The
students
stay
with
home-stay
families
while
they are
in
Melbourne
and it
is
touching
to see
the
warmth
of the
relationships
which
form
between
the
students
and
their
hosts. |
