Hello Parents, Teachers and Friends of The Peninsula School, my name is Rob Little and I have been elected as the new President of our Peninsula School Parents Association  for 2008. I am pleased to be able to represent the parent body here at The Peninsula School and looking forward to implementing some new and fun ways of fund raising to help continue the ongoing improvements of this fabulous School.

This is only my second year of being involved at the Peninsula School as my daughter Caitlin started year 7 in 2007.  I live in Mt Eliza and I am dominated by my 3 beautiful daughters, Caitlin, Courtney & Ashleigh. To retain my sanity I still play Cricket for the Mt Eliza Cricket Club where I held the position of President for 3 years, and currently hold a Board position of the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association. In my spare time I hold down the position of Managing Director of Assethouse Aust.

My induction into the PSPA was an interesting one as my wife Carol noticed an article in the PSPA section of the TPS News that read something like this, Coordinator required to assist with the running of the Brownlow Breakfast. Carol put this article on my desk and didn’t say anything. After I read the article I presumed that Carol was suggesting that I take on this role, especially as it was our first year at Peninsula and it would be a great way to meet other parents. You can guess what I did next. What I didn’t count on was the shocked look on Carol’s face when I told her that I had taken on the role that she suggested. Carol’s only response was, I thought this would be something that you would enjoy, but I wasn’t suggesting you actually take it on. Some times you just can’t win. Carol was correct though, it was something that I would enjoy and I did help coordinate the Brownlow Breakfast, and I did get to meet many very interesting parents. I have enjoyed being a part of a team that have so many varied experiences. I can thoroughly recommend that new and existing parents put their hand up and become apart of a team of parents that want to contribute something back to the School that all our children will benefit from. All funds raised by the PSPA are spent on items and projects that will only enhance the facilities of this already high profile and successful School. I welcome all parents to the Peninsula School Parents Association, and if we can utilize your experience, expertise and ideas and not take too much of your valuable time, then would you join us at our once a month meeting This is also a great way to find out what is happening in your School.

The PSPA  had a very successful 2007 term of fund raising and my congratulations go to our out-going President Kathy McKernan, the PSPA committee and all those very enthusiastic and energetic parents that have contributed so much time and effort to all the fund raising events held last year. I only hope I am able to deliver the same success in 2008 and would sincerely appreciate the support of all those Mums and Dads who have contributed so much in previous years to support the PSPA. As a result of the PSPA’s previous fund raising efforts and successes, I now have the pleasure of coordinating where the hard earned funds raised in the last 12 months will be directed. The PSPA is now looking at special projects and ideas where these funds can be maximised and put to the best use to benefit our children and students at The Peninsula School.

The PSPA has many exciting fund raising events happening this year and we would really appreciate your input. Please email me at rob@assethouse.com.au and I will forward you details of up and coming events for 2008. Once you have received this Years agenda you may like to join the team of organisers for a particular event too assist in some role, or just be there in a supporting position. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to seeing you at one of our up and coming functions or meetings.
