We
have two
types of
scholarships
–
ACADEMIC
and
GENERAL
EXCELLENCE.
Academic
Scholarships
are
awarded
to
students
who
perform
best on
the
examination.
General
Excellence
Scholarships
are
awarded
to
students
who do
well on
the
examination
and who
can also
demonstrate
excellence
in areas
of
endeavour,
such as
Sport,
Music,
Drama,
Debating,
etc.
Evidence
of
achievement
is
required
from
those
students
who are
invited
for
interviews
for the
General
Excellence
Scholarships,
following
the
award of
the
Academic
Scholarships.
Scholarship
Selection
Testing
is
conducted
on our
behalf
by The
Australian
Council
for
Educational
Research
(ACER),
a
well-known,
independent,
national
research
and
development
organization.
ACER
currently
conducts
scholarship
testing
of many
thousands
of
students
across
Australia.
The
number
of
scholarships
and the
year
levels
can
change,
but
normally
they are
for
entry
into
Year 7.
The
level of
remission
can also
vary
from
year to
year,
but in
general
a 50%
remission
of
tuition
fees is
applicable
for
Academic
Scholarships. General
Excellence
Scholarships
normally
attract
up to
30%
remission. Please
note
that
Registration
and
Entry
Fees
are
still
payable
for
external
students.
Registration
is done
on line
via our
website
and the
examination
is held
at our
campus
in Mt
Eliza,
usually
in late
February.
The site
will be
open for
registrations
for next
year’s
round of
scholarships
towards
the end
of Term
3 2008.
