The Middle School Pastoral Care program is a comprehensive program that aims to help develop the individual student to their full potential. The program is implemented by Tutors and invited guest speakers. One lesson per week is timetabled to specifically look at pastoral issues for Years 7 and 8. The class Tutor takes on a Pastoral role at all times with his or her tutees. Any problems or concerns should be addressed to the Tutor as the first point of contact and then the Head of Year for more serious concerns.

Year 9 students have double the amount of pastoral time compared to other year levels. This enables a stronger bond to be formed between staff and students as well as giving the Year 9 Program increased flexibility. In 2008 pastoral time will consist of a Pastoral Lesson related to a particular theme, Thinking Skills, Team Building Activities and a strong emphasis on Physical Fitness. During pastoral time Year 9 students will learn about physical and nutritional needs and work on improving their general fitness level. Students will regularly run around a 3km course as well as complete circuit training and skipping sessions. They will be working regularly with local athlete Susie Power and will be encouraged to enter a fun run during the course of the year.
