students
undergo
a
period
of
much
personal
growth
and
development.
They
are
increasingly
encouraged
to
be
independent
and
learn
more
about
themselves.
The
key
theme
for
pastoral

Identity
and
Self:
Identity
and
Self:
Who
am
I?
What
am I
good
at?
Who
would
I
like
to
be?
What
motivates
me?
How
do I
learn?
During
semester
two
the
students
are
encouraged
to
look
more
into
their
place
in
the
wider
community
through
fundraising
efforts
and
information
from
a
number
of
guest
speakers.
Students
participate
in
two
camps
during
Year

Each
Year
8
class
participates
in
the
Mt
Baw
Baw
integrated
project.
During
Term

all
classes
attend
the
Glenmaggie
outdoor
education
camp
in
which
they
are
involved
in a
number
of
team
building
and
outdoor
activities.
During
Term

students
develop
a
presentation
of
personal
achievement/participation
in
either
academic,
co-curricular
or
community
activities.
Mt

Year 8
class
will
participate
in the
Mt Baw

will be
completed
during

and will
involve
the

spending
several

at the

lodge on
Mt Baw
Baw. The

will
consider
many
facets
of the
mountain
including
logging,

management,
resort

farming,
aboriginal
rights
and
endangered
species.
Students
will
plan
their

present
their
findings
in group
and
individual
presentations
upon
their
return
to
School.
Personal

Evening
During
Term 3

develop
a
presentation
of
personal
achievement
or
participation
in
either
academic,
co-curricular
or
community
activities.
Students
then
present
or
perform
to the
year

parents
at the
Personal

Students
act as
the
Master

Ceremonies
and
support
each
other in
a range
of
delivery
styles.
The
evening
provides
an
opportunity
for
students
to
demonstrate
to their
peers
something
of which
they are
particularly
proud.
