The
Resource
Centre
of the
Peninsula
School
is
centrally
located
in the
Senior
Campus
of the
School.
There
are 3
main
departments
within
this
building
- the
Senior
Library,
the
Audio-Visual
Department
and the
Information
Technology
Service
Centre.
The main
Library
collection
contains
over
35,000
books
and
there
are
extensive
collections
of
non-book
materials.
The
Loans
and
Information
Desk
located
in the
foyer is
always
staffed
when the
Senior
Library
is open,
and is
the
first
place to
go for
any
general
information
about
the
Resource
Centre.
Some
popular
material
is also
held in
this
area:
the
daily
newspapers
and
current
general
and
sporting
magazines.
All
material
that is
taken
from the
Resource
Centre
must be
charged
out at
the
desk.
The
Reference
Collection
is an
important
part of
the
library
collection
and a
librarian
is
always
available
to
assist
users
with any
research
questions.
The
reference
collection
has
general
and
specialist
encyclopaedias,
atlases
and
handbooks,
yearbooks,
directories
and many
other
books
that
supply
facts
and
figures.
Photocopying
The
Resource
Centre
has 2
photocopiers
located
near the
Loans
Desk. If
assistance
is
required,
the
library
staff
are
always
available
to
assist.
The main
Non-fiction
collection
is
located
in the
main
reading
area of
the
Library.
Books
may be
borrowed
for 2
weeks.
The
collection
is
arranged
in Dewey
Decimal
order.
The
Fiction
collection
is
nearby
and
contains
a wide
variety
of
novels
arranged
alphabetically
by the
authors
name. We
always
welcome
your
suggestions
about
new
books to
buy for
the
Library,
so do
let us
know if
you have
any
ideas.
Magazines,
Journals,
Periodicals
are
housed
in the
main
Library
and also
in the
Serials
Room. We
have a
wide
range of
print
journals,
but also
remember
the
online
services
that
give
full
text
access
via the
Internet.
The
Resource
Centre
holds 12
months
back
copies
of the 3
daily
newspapers.
AV
Department
The
Audio-Visual
Department
looks
after
much of
the
non-print
materials
in the
Resource
Centre.
We have
a very
extensive
DVD
collection
that is
available
for both
students
and
staff to
use. All
our
programs
are
listed
on the
main
library
catalogue.
There is
a wide
range of
equipment
available
for
loan,
including
video
cameras,
still
cameras,
etc. For
information
about
these
items
please
come and
talk to
our A/V
Co-ordinator
in the
department
itself.
The
department
also has
video
editing
suites
which
students
may use
once
they are
familiar
with the
equipment.
Training
must be
arranged
in
advance.
