When Problems Arise

The Peninsula School is a customer-focused organisation committed to the best possible outcomes for members of its community. When problems arise we welcome your contact so that we can work together to achieve a resolution. We recognise that the best outcomes are achieved when complaints are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.

In the first instance a complaint concerning a secondary school teacher should be directed to the teacher concerned. If you feel this is not appropriate, address your concerns to the relevant Head of Year. If you are still not satisfied, you should contact the relevant, more senior, staff member - the Head of the Middle School (Yrs 7-8), Mr Steve Wiltshire; the Head of the Year 9 program, Mr Jason Hammond; or the Head of the Senior School (Yrs 10-12), Mrs Marg Hopkins.

In the Early Childhood Centre and Junior School, if a direct approach to the teacher concerned is not feasible, the relevant contact person is the Head of the ECC, Mrs Louise Cook, or the Head of the Junior School, Mr Jon Pittard. In the English Language Centre contact the Director of International Programs, Mr Gary Van Den Nelsen. If the complaint relates to our Boarding program contact either Ms Mary Renehan (girls) or Mr Mark Cook (boys); if this is inappropriate contact Mr Gary Van Den Elsen.

In the event that the teacher concerned feels compromised in any way by a direct approach from a parent or caregiver, the matter will be referred to a senior member of staff who will then become involved in discussions.

If the complaint concerns a staff member other than a teacher, you should contact the Business Manager, Mr Martin Massey.

Once these avenues have been exhausted, or if you require advice, contact the Deputy Principal, Mr Phil Doll. At that stage, the Principal, Mr Ray Hille, will be alerted to the issue.

If your concern is with the actions of the Principal, your complaint should be made in writing and sent in a sealed envelope to the office of the Business Manager, addressed to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr Ron Zammit.
