Each year we welcome boarding students from all over the
world to our campus. These students come from as far
afield as China, Japan, Germany, South East Asia, USA,
Europe and South America. Many of the students opt for
home stay with some preferring to board at the School.
We can cater for about 40 boys in the Jaffray House
facility and 20 girls in Heather Reilly House. In
addition to our boarders, we regularly have cultural
student exchange tours passing through the School for
2-3 week visits.
Our international students provide a diverse range of
interests and backgrounds which gives the local students
a completely different outlook to the world in which
they live. During the school year there are a number of
special events which celebrate the various cultures of
our international students. For the rest of the time
they participate in school life along with the rest of
the local student body.
Peninsula boasts its own English Language Centre where
staff assist new boarders to come to grips with the
English language and the Australian way of life. In
addition, the School runs the VCE program through 5
different centres throughout China and is one of the
most respected deliverers of the VCE program in that
country.
We are a major sponsor of a newly developed school in a
not so wealthy area of India. Also known as The
Peninsula School, in recognition of our sponsorship, it
has grown in leaps and bounds over the past few years.
All this considerable activity, both in Australia and
overseas, is ably managed by our International
Department, situated at the Mt. Eliza campus.
For those with a penchant for the French way of life we
have regular cultural exchange tours with Notre Dame Les
Oiseaux de Verneuil, a school situated on the outskirts
of Paris. The exchange tours are conducted annually,
with each school taking a turn about at either hosting
or traveling.
The Peninsula School’s International Director will be visiting the following countries
as listed.
March 2008 -
China & India
June 2008 - China & Malaysia
September 2008 - Hong Kong, China & Vietnam
November 2008 - China & India
