Parents as Careers Transition Support (PACTS)

Time and again, research has shown that parents are easily the biggest factor in influencing a young person’s career choices. The aim of the PACTS program is to equip parents with the skills and knowledge to better fulfill that role. It is run over three 2 hour sessions in groups of up to twenty parents.

The dates of the Pathways weeks and PACTS programs are as follows:

PACTS: 30 April, 7 May, 14 May
9E        Monday 5 May – Friday 9 May
9F        Monday 12 May – Friday 16 May

PACTS: 23 July, 30 July, 6 August
9A        Monday 28 July – Friday 1 August
9B        Monday 4 August – Friday 8 August

PACTS: 8 October, 15 October, 22 October
9C        Tuesday 6 October – Friday 10 October
9D        Monday 13 October – Friday 17 October


To enrich the student experiences during Pathways Week, we are seeking the support of parents and ex students to:

 - allow groups of students to visit a workplace and 'see careers in action'
 - speak to small groups of students about the skills and attributes that employers might seek in potential employees
