Council Approves New
Pedestrian Crossing in Front of ECC
As part of the School’s traffic awareness program, an approach was made to
Council with a request they construct a school crossing in Wooralla Drive in
front of the ECC. We have just been advised by Council that they have completed
a traffic count and the figures have indicated that a crossing is warranted.
This is certainly good news. Before the crossing can be installed Council will
undertake an engineering design and address the matter of finding. The aim is to
have the crossing installed as soon as possible.
Further, drivers will note the additional slow points, comprising large garden
pots, that have been installed around the school. The specific aim of these pots
is to slow down the traffic. They are proving to be more effective than the
speed humps which appear to have limited impact on some vehicles.
Please support us in our efforts and drive safely in and around the school.
Remember that the speed limit is 10kph which is almost walking speed.
