At Peninsula we pride ourselves on the availability and use of technology. Wireless network connectivity is available to staff and students anywhere around the campus. Each classroom in the ECC and Junior School is fitted with interactive white boards, whilst the Middle and Senior School classrooms are resourced with data projectors. All staff use Tablet PCs to enhance their delivery of the curriculum.
At the heart of technology at Peninsula is the very successful student notebook program that has been running in our Middle and Senior Schools since the early 1990s.
As the online world marches through the Web 2.0 era, and technology continues to change at a rapid rate, so does the role of the notebook in the classroom. Today, a student’s notebook is an integral part of their education. Whether they are researching online resources, logging scientific data, accessing and submitting assessments via our Learning Management System (intranet) or producing a video, the laptop is as critical as the pencil and notebook were in the past.
Students obtain their notebook through a cost effective purchase or rental program. The students are fully supported by the staff of our Notebook Service Centre who troubleshoot and repair all hardware and software issues.
The curriculum is the driver of technology at Peninsula not the converse. Teaching staff integrate technology into their classroom and actively engage students in their learning.
At Peninsula we seek to prepare each student for life after their secondary school education where technology will be at the core of day to day functioning both in the workplace environment and at home.
